MOON, PA – (Feb. 14) – Damon Piatek, President and CEO of Welke Customs Brokers USA, announced today Welke Customs Brokers USA, based in Tonawanda, NY, will host an educational seminar for Pittsburgh-area companies on the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on Wednesday, February 19, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn, 8514 University Blvd. in Moon. The session will focus on the key components of the new trade agreement, and what companies should be doing to prepare for its implementation.
“While the USMCA has been a top headline in the news for almost two years now, many companies doing business throughout North America don’t know what’s actually in it, and how it will affect their operations,” said Piatek. “Now that the agreement has been ratified, when implementation comes, it will come quickly, and we thought it was important to reach out to manufacturers and distributors in the region to walk them through the changes that will affect their import and export processes.”
Piatek, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the logistics industry, is a Licensed US Customs Broker and holds a CCS (Certified Customs Specialist), and will present on the most pertinent need-to-know information from USMCA, including:
- Updates, upgrades and changes from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to USMCA
- New analysis of the U.S.-Canada-Mexico trade relationships
- How the new USMCA will affect individual manufacturers doing business in North America and abroad

“Welke USA’s growth has come in markets such as Pittsburgh, with a ‘rust belt’ legacy that has now become modernized economic growth in a global marketplace,” said Piatek. “With an existing client base and exciting opportunity to help importers and exporters in the region through our education and customer service, Pittsburgh was a clear choice for our next market for expansion. We’re thrilled to be here.”
